Friday and Saturday, April 28 & 29, 2017 : National Astronomy Days! Ettrick, Wisconsin, G-E-T School Forest. 11:00am – 2:00pm, solar viewing; 7:00pm- very late, a night under the stars. Join us at the G-E-T School District’s observatory, in conjunction with the LCAAS (La Crosse Area Astronomical Society). Open to the public, Paul and other members of the astronomy club will share views of objects in the night sky using a variety of telescopes. Both days, weather permitting.
Thursday, May 18: Viroqua Middle School 6th grade at Sugar Creek Camp. Not open to the public.
Friday, June 16: Chilton; Chilton Public Library. Three (or four) planetarium presentations, starting at 11:00 am.
Monday June 19: Fond du Lac; Fond du Lac Public Library. Two planetarium presentations, starting at 1:00 pm.
Wednesday, June 21: Brandon: Brandon Public Library. One (or two) planetarium presentations, starting at 2:00 pm.
Friday, June 23: Observing at the G-E-T Observatory, with members of the La Crosse Area Astronomical Society (LCAAS), starting at dusk (about 8:30 pm). Re-scheduled for the next night if we are clouded out on Friday.
Thursday, July 13: Wild Rose; Patterson Memorial Library. Two (or three) planetarium presentations in the morning.
Wautoma Public library. Two planetarium presentations: 3:00 and 4:15.
Monday, July 17: Trempealeau; Shirley M. Wright Memorial Library. 1:00 (and possibly 2:30) planetarium presentations.
Friday, July 28: Ripon Public Library. Star Party at Riggs County Park, starting around dusk.
August, 2017: Paul will be on the road, heading toward the mountain West to view the total eclipse of the sun on the morning of August 21.
